Active Dames of the Huntington Town Committee in Cabell County netted $20,000 in support of the Craik-Patton House by hosting an Alexander Hamilton weekend November 2-3, 2018. Eben Kuhns portrayed Hamilton for middle school students, Marshall University history, political science, and performing arts students  at a luncheon at Guyan Golf and Country Club. Dixie Wilson, chairman, and Mary Elizabeth Emmons, co-chair and treasurer,  coordinated the event which was an inspiring and enriching experience, illustrating the Dames’ mission statement of historic preservation, education, and patriotic service. Over 700 people were involved in the Hamilton weekend. Alexander Hamilton was President George Washington’s right-hand man who fought with him in the Revolutionary War and served as first treasurer of the new American nation.
